Short Course on Food and Nutrition (Introduction)

Learn to determine how to eat for better health

This will help you to improve your own well-being, and advise others as well.

You may simply be a parent or spouse wanting to improve the health of your family; but you might also be someone who works in a health food shop, a fitness club, as a food manufacturer or in some other capacity where you have a need to better understand food and nutrition.

Whatever your motivation -personal, business, career or something else -this course offers a well organised and effective way to learn about food and nutrition, far beyond what you might ever achieve by simply reading a book.

This is a holistic learning experience.

The most essential aspect of nutrition is the volume and variety of nutrients a person consumes in their diet. All people require the same nutrients during each stage in their life cycle although the volume of each nutrient necessary does vary. Here we will consider the differences of each life stage specifically and the major nutritional requirements during this time.

How does it work?

At the end of each lesson, you will be given a short interactive test to undertake, which will provide an indication of how your learning is progressing. Upon completing the very last lesson, you will be offered a more thorough automated test or examination. This final assessment can be undertaken at any time of day or night; and any day of the week; and if you achieve an overall pass (60% or more); you will be able to obtain a “certificate of completion” with your name and completion date on it.

Note: these short courses are self-guided online courses and are not to be confused with our tutor-supported online courses.
